Call Forwarding on GRP26xx Phones #

Learn how to enable call forwarding on your Grandstream GRP26xx desk phone so calls can be diverted to another number or extension.

Models: GRP2612 / GRP2612P / GRP2612W / GRP2613 / GRP2614 / GRP2615 / GRP2616

Call forwarding allows your incoming calls to be automatically sent to another number or extension. This guide shows how to turn call forwarding on or off from the phone menu on supported GRP26xx models.

What You Need #

  • A Grandstream GRP26xx phone registered to your PeerOne account
  • An active extension on the PeerOne Cloud PBX
  • The phone powered on and connected to the network
  • The destination phone number or extension you want to forward to

Step 1 – Open the Call Forwarding Menu #

  1. On the phone keypad, press the Menu / OK button.
  2. Using the navigation keys, go to Phone.
  3. Select Call Features.
  4. Choose the Account you want to configure (for example, Account 1).
Tip: If your phone has multiple accounts, make sure you are editing the same account that your main extension is registered to.

Step 2 – Enable Call Forwarding & Set the Destination #

Inside the Call Features menu for the selected account, locate the call forwarding option.

  1. Scroll to the Call Forwarding or related option for that account.
  2. Change the setting from Disabled to Enabled.
  3. When prompted, enter the phone number or extension you want to forward calls to.
  4. Press Save (or the corresponding soft key) to confirm your settings.

Once saved, the phone’s LCD will update to show that call forwarding is active for that account. When a call is forwarded, the receiving party may see a “diverted from” message on their display, depending on their phone and provider.

Step 3 – Test Call Forwarding #

  • From another phone, call the extension or number assigned to your GRP26xx.
  • Confirm that the call rings at the forwarded destination number or extension.
  • If the original desk phone still rings, re-check the call forwarding setting and the configured destination.

Step 4 – Turn Call Forwarding Off #

When you no longer need calls to be forwarded, you can turn the feature off from the same menu:

  1. Press Menu / OK.
  2. Go to Phone → Call Features → Account X.
  3. Change the call forwarding option back to Disabled.
  4. Press Save.

Troubleshooting #

Issue Suggested Fix
Calls are not being forwarded
  • Verify call forwarding is set to Enabled for the correct account.
  • Confirm the destination phone number or extension is correct.
  • Test calling the destination directly to make sure it is reachable.
Desk phone still rings instead of the forwarded number
  • Re-open the Call Features → Account X menu and confirm forwarding is saved.
  • Check if there are any other call features active (for example, DND or special ring rules).
  • Restart the phone and test again.
Forwarded caller ID looks different
  • Depending on your setup, the receiving party may see either your main business number or the original caller ID.
  • If you need specific caller ID behavior, contact PeerOne Support for assistance.

Security & Best Practices #

  • Only forward calls to numbers you trust (such as company mobiles or known external numbers).
  • Disable call forwarding when returning to the office to avoid missed calls on your desk phone.
  • If you are unsure how your calls are being routed, contact PeerOne Support to review your configuration.
