Send a Fax by Email #
Use your regular email (Gmail, Outlook, etc.) to send a fax through your PeerOne Cloud PBX service no fax machine required.
PeerOne lets you send faxes directly from your email account. Instead of printing and using a physical fax machine, you simply compose an email and PeerOne converts it into a fax for you.
What You Need #
- An active PeerOne Cloud PBX account with fax enabled.
- An email address (e.g., Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail) configured on your computer or mobile device.
- The destination fax number you want to send to.
Step 1 – Compose the Fax Email #
- Open your email app (for example, Gmail on the web or Outlook on your computer).
-
In the To field, enter:

Step 2 – Attach the Document(s) #
- Attach the file(s) you want to fax (for example, a PDF or document file) to the email.
- Double-check that the attachments are complete and legible the fax will be generated from these files.
- Review the To address and Subject one more time to confirm the fax number is correct.
Tip:
If you frequently fax to the same number, save a draft or template email with the correct format, and just update the attachments each time.
Step 3 – Send the Fax #
- Click Send in your email client.
- PeerOne receives the email at fax@peerone.ca, converts the attachments into a fax, and sends it to the phone number you specified in the subject line.
- Watch your inbox for any confirmation or error messages related to the fax delivery (if configured on your account).
Troubleshooting & Best Practices #
- Fax did not go through? Verify that the subject line is exactly in the format [out] phone number with a valid fax number.
- No response or confirmation? Check your spam/junk folder and confirm that your PeerOne fax service is active on your account.
- Attachments not readable? Use clear, high-contrast documents (PDF is usually best) and avoid photos with very small text.
- If issues persist, contact PeerOne Support and provide the time you sent the email and the fax number you were trying to reach.
