Zoiper Mobile App Setup #
Learn how to install and configure the Zoiper app for iOS & Android using your PeerOne SIP credentials.
The Zoiper mobile app lets you use your PeerOne SIP account on your iOS or Android device. This guide walks you through installing the app and registering your PeerOne extension so you can make and receive calls on the go.
What You Need #
- An iOS or Android smartphone with internet access (Wi-Fi or mobile data)
- Your PeerOne SIP account:
- SIP server / hostname
- Extension / username
- SIP password
- Optional: A headset or earbuds for better call quality
Step 1 – Install Zoiper #
- Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
- Search for Zoiper or Zoiper Lite voip soft phone.
- Tap Install / Get and wait for the app to finish installing.
- Open Zoiper once the installation completes.
Tip: You can also use the buttons above to jump directly to the Zoiper app page in your device’s
store.
Step 2 – Add Your PeerOne SIP Account #
Use the credentials PeerOne provided in your welcome email:
| Field | Value / Example |
|---|---|
| Username | Your extension number (for example, 101) |
| Password | Your SIP/VoIP password provided by PeerOne |
| Domain / Host | Your PeerOne SIP server hostname (for example, xyz.networkplus.ca) |
| Authentication Username | Same as your extension unless PeerOne specifies otherwise |
| Transport | Recommended: TLS (or TCP if TLS is not available) |
- When Zoiper starts, choose Use my own provider (or similar).
- Enter your username, password, and host exactly as provided by PeerOne.
- Skip creating a Zoiper account – you’re using your PeerOne SIP account instead.
- Save the account and wait a few seconds for registration.
Once registered, Zoiper should show a status like Registered or Ready.
Step 3 – Make & Receive Calls #
- Use the dial pad to call external numbers or internal extensions (e.g.,
101,102). - For incoming calls, swipe or tap Answer when Zoiper rings.
- Use the in-call buttons to mute, hold, or switch to speaker or a Bluetooth headset.
Recommended Settings (Especially for iOS) #
On iOS, the operating system can suspend apps in the background. To reduce missed calls, PeerOne recommends:
- In Zoiper, enable any options related to Wi-Fi keep-alive or Push / Background notifications if available.
- Allow Zoiper to send notifications when prompted by iOS or Android.
- On iOS, avoid force-closing Zoiper by swiping it away; let it run in the background.
- Keep your device connected to a stable Wi-Fi network whenever possible.
Troubleshooting #
| Issue | Suggested Fix |
|---|---|
| Zoiper does not register |
|
| Cannot receive calls in background |
|
| Poor call quality |

Security & Best Practices #
- Keep your SIP password private and do not reuse it for other services.
- Use TLS and SRTP if provided by PeerOne for encrypted signaling and media.
- Update Zoiper and your mobile OS regularly to get the latest security fixes.
