Zoiper Desktop App (Windows / Mac) #

Install and configure the Zoiper desktop app on Windows or macOS using your PeerOne SIP credentials.

This guide walks you through installing the Zoiper desktop softphone on Windows or macOS and configuring it to work with your PeerOne SIP account.

What You Need #

  • Windows 10 or later, or macOS (recent supported version)
  • Stable internet connection
  • Your PeerOne SIP username, password, and domain
  • Optional: USB or wired headset for better audio quality

Step 1 – Download & Install Zoiper #

  1. Click the Download Zoiper button above.
  2. On the Zoiper website, choose your platform: Windows or macOS.
  3. Download the installer and open it once the download is complete.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.
  5. Launch Zoiper from your Start menu (Windows) or Applications folder (macOS).
Note: Zoiper may offer free and paid versions. The free version is usually sufficient for standard PeerOne SIP calling.

Step 2 – Add Your PeerOne SIP Account #

When Zoiper starts, it may prompt you to create or add an account. If not, go to Settings → Accounts and choose Add. Use the values provided by PeerOne:

Field Value / Example
Account type SIP
Username Your extension number (for example, 101)
Password Your SIP/VoIP password provided by PeerOne
Domain / Host xyz.networkplus.ca (replace xyz with your assigned domain)
Authentication username Usually the same as your Username, unless specified otherwise
Outbound proxy xyz.networkplus.ca (same as Domain/Host), if required by your PeerOne setup
Display name Your name as you want it to appear on caller ID (for example, Harris – PeerOne)

Save the account. Zoiper should register and show a status such as Registered or Online. If registration fails, refer to the troubleshooting section below.

Step 3 – Place a Test Call #

  • Connect your headset and make sure it’s selected as the audio device in Zoiper settings.
  • Use the on-screen dial pad to enter a test number or extension.
  • Click the Call button to place the call.
  • Verify that you can hear audio and that the other side can hear you.

Troubleshooting #

Issue Suggested Fix
Registration failed / cannot connect
  • Confirm that your username, password, and domain are entered correctly.
  • Check your internet connection.
  • Ensure no firewall or security software is blocking SIP or Zoiper.
No audio or one-way audio
  • Check Zoiper audio settings and your system sound settings.
  • Test with a different headset or speakers.
  • Verify that your router or firewall is not blocking RTP/media ports.
Poor call quality or dropped calls
  • Use a wired Ethernet connection instead of Wi-Fi when possible.
  • Close bandwidth-heavy apps (large downloads, streaming, etc.).
  • Contact PeerOne if you suspect bandwidth or routing issues.

Security & Best Practices #

  • Use a strong, unique password for your SIP account and keep it private.
  • Do not share credentials over email or chat.
  • Keep Zoiper and your operating system updated with the latest security patches.
